MYLR where art thou skrev:Hej!
VIN is allocated when the ship is around in the middle of its voyage.
From depart from Shanghai to Sweden, seems it take 6-7 weeks, more or the less.
But Giga Shanghai does not produce your order immediatly. The theory is, Giga Shanghai produces Model 3 and Y for Asia, OZ and Europe (except MYP from Berlin), and Tesla would like to have nice numbers in their quater report, so, at the first half of a quater, they make cars for exporting, thus those cars can be shipped and delivered to customers before quater end. And they use second half to make for Chinese customers.
While producing, they do not produce per order specs, instead, they produce in batchs with same spec then shift to another spec. It is lottery like thing, you do not know if your spec was in good or bad position untill you get your car.
Tesla does not disclouse the info about logistics at all. So you do not know which ship can carry your car or not. The only thing can do is cross fingers until you get the VIN.
Then you can check on the ships live map, find the one around Suez canel, and guess that is your ship.
Some vessel operators provide a webpage, then you can input your VIN and check if your car is on their ship.
I personally feel this link is useful:
https://linktr.ee/teslaupdate
You will be able to find a lot there including the suspected Tesla carriers and their live position.
There is a ship, THEBEN, which carries Teslas from Shanghai, and unloaded in Zeebrugge. It's next destination stayed unknowen until Jun 15, then it said Gothenburg.
Combine with the recent post which says Tesla reprioritized Sweden due to the bonus cap is coming.
I got a bit hopeful at the beginning for my MYLR 20" White/Black ordered on Mar 10.
Then, I did a bit study: THEBEN seems spent 1 day + 11 hr in Shanghai to load the cars, its draught became 10.3 m while depart from Shanghai.
In Zeebrugge, THEBEN stayed 1 day + 10 hr as well, for unloading, its draught changed from 10.3m to 8.9m, then to 9.0 m (guess they pumped water into the tank).
Now I feel a bit dark on THEBEN.
Probably I should put a new order on MYP.
