Under UN R 171 Series 02, the system can no longer just start a lane change, turn, or traffic-light departure on its own the way FSD currently does...
Here are the rules....
New mandatory rules for system-initiated maneuvers:
• Clear visual announcement at least ~3 seconds ahead
• Camera must confirm the driver is looking / engaged
• Driver must be able to easily reject/abort before it starts
• If rejected, system cannot immediately retry the same move
Some examples of why FSD doesn't comply today...
Traffic light departure: The vehicle can only proceed if visual engagement is confirmed. Otherwise the car stays stopped.
Tight urban curves / turns: If the system doesn't have a visual driver engagement, then the system must generate escalating warnings until a safe stop.

Speed behavior:
Tesla currently allows a speed offset that routinely exceeds the posted limit.
Series 02 effectively ends the "standard overshoot." The system must be set so it does not default to traveling above the limit.

Lateral acceleration limits:
The car must respect a strict maximum lateral acceleration in curves (around 3 m/s² for passenger cars, with validation tests).
Therefore the software needs to adapt to a new driving style to stay within the approved envelope.
