Hello,
I need your help to decide on the below.
I slightly broke my window frame from the Passenger side and the reason for that was the vent was frozen on a cold winter day.
I preheat my car before leaving and left when I got the message that "cabin temperature is as desired".
I could open the door from the driver's side but when my friend opened the door for the front passenger side it opened but failed to close completely he then tried to apply force to close the door without realizing that the window frame was getting damaged. As the vent was stuck and didn't come slightly down automatically while opening it blocked the door to close.
We tried to pull down the vent by button but it was completely frozen. Then we tried to increase the temperature in the cabin and after 5-10 mins the window vent came down and we could close the door.
After a few days, I realize that there is a small dent due to the force we applied for closing the door.
I created a service appointment and Tesla has given an estimate of 3200 sek for repair though my car is under warranty.
My Questions
1. Can I fight with Tesla that the damage has occurred because the vent didn't come down automatically as it should after opening the door?
2. I don't see any functional issue with that dent as it is outer side and doesn't affect the opening and closing of the vent or any leakage, Can I live with that or it can incur any major repair cost in the future?
3. Any suggestion to get it repaired from 3rd party at a lower cost as the damage looks minor?
PS: Attached the pictures of the dent
Thanks,
Swapnil

Re: [WINDOW FRAME][SERVICE]
My recommendation after some experience with this: Do not repair the door at third party. I had my S door repaired at a third party and lots of pieces gradually came loose and went out of adjustment inside the door many months later. Eventually the window glass went out of spec and wind started coming through.
I had to take the door back to Tesla to have it sorted out. This video should give you a taste of why:
Ps. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think warranty will cover it if the door was forced closed while still frozen.
