Jag såg en tråd i en fb-grupp med några påståenden kring pumpen:

This is long winded…. But it’s confirmed by multiple Tesla SCs and one DM
A lot of people here just have no idea what they’re talking about this issue is complex and it’s been going on for years and it has gotten better and worse and than better again.
If you talk to a Tesla tech is willing to actually talk to you and tell you the truth he’ll tell you that what’s going on here is something they’ve known about for years and they’ve been chasing their tails on the problem
First the compressor they were running they were over speeding the compressor, which was causing damage, but they didn’t know that the over speed was the problem. They thought it was a pressure issue so they made software adjustment after software adjustment trying to stop it from happening, but it didn’t work.
Then their next move was to run the compressor at a slower speed to try to stop it from eating itself alive
That ended up working a little bit and was able to save some of them, but in the harshest of climates, especially where it’s very hot or very cold. It didn’t actually work that well.
Next Tesla engineers went back to the drawing board and decided to engineer a pump themselves that could handle these problems. This was a new generation pump that any cars that had replacements was to get…. They didn’t manufacture the pump, but they engineered it.
This along with some engineering changes and software adjustments became quite reliable and is what most people have in their car unless you have a very early model Y….
The bigger problem is that the issues they’re having, are really difficult to diagnose and repair.
The biggest problem is that every time the compressor eats itself it contaminate the entire system full of metal shavings, and that includes every part, including the lines and the condenser system…. It gets into the super manifold goes EVERYWHERE.
As it turns out cleaning all of this garbage out of the system is really difficult. You have to vacuum and flush it over and over to get it all out and that takes a really long time and the service centre is never do it. They do spend a lot of time trying, but not nearly enough and if there’s anything left in there, you’re going to have the problem again guaranteed it’s just a matter of time usually about 6 to 12 months…. The contamination gets back to the compressor and starts to cause the compressor to eat itself again….
Why is this happening….
Each time Tesla has the problem with the car. The standard procedure is to replace the compressor, the Superman fold and all of the lines because those are the parts that are easily accessible. They never pull out the evaporator. They try to flush it, but they can’t really flush it all because it’s difficult and they can’t replace it because the labour is far too intense.
So they flush it all out replace all the parts, external put it back together and hope for the best
Once a car has this happen once - it’s a lemon, it’s probably happening again. I know 5 people - like me - all the same scenario to a tee…. And I’ve had multiple Tesla employees on thr DL tell me this.
The MY Juniper - solves it, the system is redesigned to prevent contaminants from settling in parts of the system and causing blockages.
